For any new compliance standard, the first question clients ask is always the cost rather than test items. With 14 months left before GB 45672-2025 mandatory implementation, the standard is too new to have public official pricing lists.
This article splits the real cost structure clearly to help you evaluate quotations rationally.
Mature standards such as FCC, CE and KC have transparent standardized quotations with fixed test items and service contents. As a mandatory standard released in April 2025, GB 45672-2025 has limited completed project cases with no fixed package pricing. AECS solutions vary greatly among automakers (4G Cat.1/5G, independent T-Box/cockpit domain integration, different acoustic calibration foundations), leading to large cost gaps evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
In addition, GB 45672-2025 follows the MIIT type approval & filing process for automotive announcements, completely different from voluntary CQC certification charging logic; avoid misapplying consumer electronics certification pricing models.
2. Two Independent Cost Components of GB 45672-2025
-AECS Component Testing Fee
Test contents: Device inherent functional performance, communication capability, positioning accuracy, voice call quality and electromagnetic immunity. Items include trigger mechanism, MSD transmission, 4G/LTE network connection, Beidou positioning response, hands-free call acoustic indicators and vibration/shock reliability. This is the basic certification cost.
-Whole-Vehicle Integrated Type Test Fee
Test contents: Actual vehicle system coordination after AECS installation, including collision signal eCall trigger validity, post-collision communication survivability, in-vehicle acoustic call quality and backup power emergency working duration. Charged independently separate from component testing.
EMC Clarification: Whole-vehicle EMC follows independent GB 34660 standard as a mandatory automotive announcement item. GB 45672-2025 only tests eCall inherent anti-interference performance with no additional full EMC testing fees.
-Real Collision Verification Method (Industry Rumor Correction)
GB 45672-2025 does not require physical vehicle crash testing. Collision trigger, shock resistance and post-collision communication retention are all verified via bench shock testing and signal injection simulation. No customized test vehicle or real collision is needed, eliminating hundreds of thousands of experimental vehicle modification costs rumored in the industry.
-Reference Cost Range
2026 mainstream quotation level from domestic authoritative laboratories:
·Independent 4G AECS/T-Box full component testing: 50,000 to 90,000 RMB
·Whole-vehicle integrated linkage test (based on qualified component reports): Additional 30,000 to 60,000 RMB
·5G solution has a slight price increase over 4G with no doubling cost.
·Complete project total (component test + vehicle linkage test + report sorting): 80,000 to 150,000 RMB (specific price based on solution complexity and rectification items).
-Factors Leading to Cost Overrun
·Voice Acoustic Calibration Rectification: The main testing failure point lies in acoustic indicators such as loudness, echo suppression and noise suppression. Immature early calibration leads to repeated rectification and re-testing costs.
·Test Report Reuse Cost Saving: Test reports of AECS with identical platform/hardware/software versions can be reused within the validity period. Re-testing is only required for communication/positioning chip replacement, trigger logic modification and acoustic algorithm adjustment; appearance changes and conventional infotainment OTA are exempt from re-testing and fees.
