Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), the Directive for the Recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. In order to properly dispose of these huge amounts of electrical and electronic waste and recycle precious resources, the European Union passed two directives that have a significant impact on electrical and electronic equipment products in 2002, namely WEEE (European Union Recycling Directive) and RoHS Directive (European Union's Recycling Directive). Environmental Directive).

In 2016, the German environmental protection department issued a law against e-commerce, requiring Amazon to notify overseas e-commerce merchants selling on its platform to register electronic equipment recycling, and before obtaining the WEEE electronic equipment recycling code, Amazon must order the merchant to stop selling. At present, Amazon implements a policy of forcible closure of companies selling cross-border e-commerce, and products that do not register the WEEE registration code will be forcibly removed from the shelves. Among all European countries, Germany has the strictest environmental protection requirements, so German WEEE must be done!

Scrap electrical and electronic equipment, "waste" is defined in detail in Directive 75/442/EEC, which is modified in Directive 91/156/EEC. Scrap is actually for all categories of products in Annex I of the WEEE Directive, even if the product has not reached the end of its useful life stage, as long as it is discarded by consumers as waste.

From August 13, 2005, manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment circulating in the EU market must be legally responsible for paying the recycling fees for scrapped products. Supporting recycling facilities enable end-users of electrical and electronic products to dispose of end-of-life equipment conveniently and free of charge.
