Many U.S. exporters confuse FCC SDoC with FCC ID, leading to wasted time and failed shipments. This guide clarifies exactly what SDoC is and how it works.
FCC SDoC stands for Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity. It is the mandatory compliance route for non-wireless electrical products sold in the U.S.
It is a self-declaration system:
·No FCC ID or official database registration
·No TCB certification required
·Manufacturer signs a declaration based on a valid lab test report
·The supplier bears full compliance responsibility
SDoC still requires legitimate testing — fake or untested declarations are illegal.
II. Key Difference Between SDoC and FCC ID
·FCC ID: For products with active wireless transmission (Bluetooth, WiFi, RF). Requires official ID and TCB approval.
·FCC SDoC: For wired / non-wireless electronics. Self-declaration with lab test report.
They are not interchangeable.
III. 2026 FCC SDoC Product Scope
All plug-in or battery-powered products without wireless transmitters:
·Chargers, adapters, power banks (non-wireless)
·Lamps, fans, humidifiers, hair dryers
·Wired speakers, keyboards, mice, monitors
·Wired power tools, motors, LED drivers
If no antenna, no WiFi/Bluetooth, no remote transmission → use SDoC.
IV. 2026 SDoC Core Requirements
1.Test per FCC Part 15B (EMC) for radiated and conducted emissions.
2.Obtain a valid lab test report.
3.Manufacturer signs SDoC declaration.
4.Mark product with FCC logo and archive documents for ≥10 years.
V. Advantages & Common Misconceptions
·Fast (3–5 business days), low-cost, simple process
·Risky to skip testing or reuse reports
·Never use SDoC for wireless products
