China Radio Type Approval: Required Documents & Certificate Validity

2026-04-28

Document preparation is the most tedious part of SRRC certification. Although the material list is numerous, only targeted and standardized preparation can ensure smooth acceptance and review passing.

1. Complete SRRC Application Document List

1.1 Mandatory Core Documents

·Online filled radio type approval application form with fully consistent enterprise license information.

·Official compliance commitment letter with legal person signature and company seal in accordance with official templates.

·Domestic enterprise business license or overseas company registration certificate (colored scanned copy with official seal).

·Agent power of attorney and ID documents (required for non-legal person handling).

·Product user manual with clear CMIIT ID marking description.

·RF principle diagram and overall system block diagram (only wireless circuit design required).

·Key RF component list including radio frequency chips, antennas and filters.

·High-definition product photos: overall appearance, internal PCB board and nameplate marking details.

1.2 Optional & Conditional Documents

·Overseas product overseas certification certificates (FCC, CE-RED): voluntarily provided to accelerate review progress.

·ISO 9001 quality system certificate: no longer mandatory for ordinary consumer wireless products.

1.3 Abolished Outdated Materials

Production capacity certificates, factory inspection reports and professional technician qualification documents are no longer required for daily SRRC applications to avoid unnecessary document rejection.

  2. SRRC Certificate Validity & Daily Management Rules

2.1 Fixed Valid Period

All SRRC certificates are valid for 5 years uniformly stipulated by MIIT. It is recommended to initiate renewal application 3 months in advance to avoid overdue invalidation.

2.2 Renewal Rules

·Non-modified products with unchanged standards: simplified document review renewal without repeated testing.

·Standard major upgrade (such as No.129 implementation): supplementary differential testing may be required for renewal.

2.3 Product Modification Management

·Must Re-certify: RF chip replacement, transmit power adjustment, band expansion, antenna gain modification and RF PCB redesign.

·No Need for Filing: Appearance color change, shell material adjustment and non-RFCircuit optimization.

2.4 Special Exception Rules

·Overdue Certificate: Cannot be renewed; must re-apply as a new project with full testing.

·Enterprise Name Change: Complete information modification with industrial and commercial change certificates to retain the original CMIIT ID.

Standardized document sorting and standardized post-certification management can effectively avoid compliance risks and repeated certification costs.
