HiFind is the vehicle-finding and location protocol inside Huawei's automotive ecosystem. The head unit broadcasts through BLE beacons and the phone works out distance and direction, solving the problem of finding a car in an underground garage. It is not the same kind of thing as BQB or Wi-Fi Alliance certification, which rest on published standards. It is closer to Huawei's own ecosystem access acceptance for partners.
That means the "cost structure" cannot simply be lifted from a third-party certification template. Huawei's Developer Alliance pages do not carry a dedicated certification guide, and online information is largely guesswork. What follows is written from the publicly confirmable parts plus vendor practice; specific figures follow the current terms of Huawei's automotive project team. Where something cannot be confirmed, go by what the Huawei project contact has actually confirmed - do not schedule production against a speculative forum post. Huawei also sets thresholds on a partner's mass-production capability and quality system, so a partner that cannot meet them has to close that gap first.
Working on HiFind starts with signing into Huawei's automotive ecosystem cooperation and opening the product line permission. For a company already inside the ecosystem, the corporate qualification is shared - adding a HiFind product line does not mean going through the whole qualification review again. A company that has not yet onboarded goes through qualification review before signing, which by industry experience runs two to four weeks. That is an experience figure, not an official promise.
Signing in itself usually does not charge a certification fee at the single-product acceptance level, but it consumes business liaison and qualification preparation person-days. Some commercial agreements also set out product-related revenue sharing or other commercial terms, so this is not entirely free of commercial cost. The budget has to take those other commercial-level arrangements into account.
The hardware threshold sits in Bluetooth. HiFind relies on BLE extended advertising to carry the beacon, so prefer Bluetooth 5.0 or later modules. Bluetooth 4.2 in its native standard does not support extended advertising; only a very small number of chips can achieve something like it through custom firmware, with high stability risk and no place in a production project. Ask Huawei technical support at the selection stage - pick the wrong module and everything after it is rework.
Confirm the antenna scheme with Huawei technical support. Beacon antennas usually sit in the centre console and cover a ring around the outside of the car; gain that is too low will not reach far enough, and gain that is too high invites misjudgement. Self-testing with Huawei's tools runs two to four weeks, and positioning accuracy misses are the majority of what comes out of it, with antenna position and broadcast parameters adjusted again and again.
Formal submission needs near-production samples, locked firmware, a key-component list and a self-test report. A sample that is far from production state produces data with no reference value, which is money spent for nothing. Sample materials and internal RF pre-testing are the main spending in this block.
There is no unified external testing fee. To hold the cost down, clear the BLE broadcast stability and power consumption in pre-testing at home first rather than letting the basic items run again and again through the formal process. Test with the production antenna and casing fitted - bare-board data has no reference value, and the casing attenuates the BLE signal noticeably, which is the main reason most projects miss the accuracy target.
Once accepted, the product enters Huawei's automotive ecosystem database, and no separate certificate is issued externally. Single-product acceptance has no two-year validity of its own, but the enterprise-level ecosystem cooperation agreement does carry a validity period. Watch the top-level agreement for renewal - single-product access is not permanently valid.
If the technical baseline shifts during the agreement period, the transition arrangement Huawei notifies at the time governs. Treating "upkeep" as an annual renewal fee is a common misunderstanding, and clearing up that positioning stops a bill being invented that does not exist.
After entering the database, the product information has to line up with the model actually on sale. Renaming without updating the filing is easily bounced back by internal audit. If the technical baseline adjusts during the agreement period, follow Huawei's notice.
Do not decide for yourself that a test can be skipped; following Huawei's current guidance is the steadiest route. HiFind and HiCar keep their product-level acceptance and product databases independent, so passing one does not automatically cover the other. What is shared is the enterprise-level ecosystem enrolment qualification, so the same company adding another product line does not repeat the qualification review.
Inside Huawei's automotive ecosystem, HiFind and HiCar are not interchangeable. Passing HiCar does not mean HiFind is done, and if that is not separated at the start, the partner window gets chosen wrongly and preparation time is wasted.
Online posts that present HiFind cost as a flat price are mostly speculation. Before you start, work to the current requirements of Huawei's automotive project team - only when the terms line up do you avoid drifting.
