GB 45672-2025 mandates M1 and N1 vehicles to be equipped with Automotive Emergency Call System (AECS) for automatic/manual rescue calling after traffic accidents. Released in April 2025, the standard enforces compliance for newly declared vehicle models from July 1, 2027. This article clarifies standard definition, test items and applicable product scope.
1. Basic Information of GB 45672-2025
Full name: Vehicle Accident Emergency Call System, released April 25, 2025, mandatory for new M1/N1 models from July 1, 2027. Under the jurisdiction of MIIT, it is a mandatory national standard with ICS classification 43.020.
Stock M1 models transition until June 30, 2028; N1 models until December 31, 2028. Non-new models enjoy a grace period for compliance upgrading.
2. Applicable Product Scope
·M1 Category: Passenger vehicles with no more than 9 seats (including driver), covering family cars and MPVs.
·N1 Category: Light-duty cargo vehicles with maximum gross weight ≤3500kg, including light trucks and mini trucks.
Vehicles outside M1/N1 (over 9-seat buses, M2/M3 coaches, medium/heavy trucks) are not forced to install AECS, but voluntarily equipped systems must still comply with GB 45672-2025.
3. GB 45672-2025 Certification Test Items
Certification is completed in whole-vehicle type approval test; no independent certification for T-Box or AECU components, which are verified as part of whole-vehicle testing.
·Core functional test: Collision signal identification, emergency call trigger, positioning validity, communication link stability and post-collision shock resistance.
·Voice call performance: Tested per supporting standard GB/T 45314-2025, assessing transmission delay, loudness, frequency response, duplex performance, echo and noise suppression. No mandatory test language or specific voice sequence; only driver position call performance is compulsory.
·Post-collision communication verification: Voice communication retention after vehicle collision is verified in whole-vehicle crash test as part of system-level validation.
4. Common Misunderstandings
-Confusing GB 45672 with GB 44495/44496Three independent mandatory standards:
·GB 44495-2024: Vehicle cybersecurity technical requirements
·GB 44496-2024: Vehicle software upgrade OTA regulations
·GB 44497-2024: Autonomous driving data recorder requirements
·GB 45672-2025: Vehicle emergency call system specificationDifferent certification paths and testing institutions for each standard.
-Overseas Certification Reuse MisunderstandingKCC, UN R144 or CE RED reports cannot be fully exempted from GB 45672 testing. Partial indicators like positioning accuracy and EMC can be referenced for technical comparison, but local specific requirements require supplementary testing.
-Bench Test Replaces Whole-Vehicle TestBench simulation is allowed for trigger logic and shock resistance verification, but acoustic performance must be tested in whole-vehicle anechoic chamber; actual road testing is not mandatory.
-False Standard CitationGB 45672-2025 does not quote ITU-T R.1140 or GOST 33468; European/Russian eCall standards are not taken as domestic compliance basis.
