·Drones, V2X, RFID, wireless mics
·Wireless cameras, smart home, IoT, connected car devices
Exempt:Purely wired products, passive RFID, extremely low‑power devices.
II. 2026 Latest Requirements
1.6GHz (Wi‑Fi 6E/7) mandatory AFC testingMust avoid military/satellite bands per RSS‑247.
2.Cybersecurity filing mandatory for smart devicesPassword policy, OTA updates, encryption, vulnerability response.
3.Simplified online declaration for low‑power devices (5–7 days).Documents must be in English or French.
4.Tighter RoHS‑like limitsCadmium restricted to 0.002%.
III. IC ≠ FCC – They Are NOT Interchangeable
·IC: Canada ISED, requires local agent, uses RSS standards.
·FCC: US FCC, no mandatory local agent, uses Part 15.
·Canada does NOT accept FCC reports directly.
·Label formats differ: IC: xxxxx vs FCC ID: xxxxx
To sell in Canada, you must do IC Certification.
