CB certification is widely used for export but often misunderstood. This guide covers documents, timeline, validity, and changes based on 2026 on-the-ground experience.

I. Complete CB Certification Document List

1. Company Basic Documents

·Business license (with stamp, sometimes English translation)

·CB application form

·Power of attorney (for agencies)

·Factory info form (only CB-FCS)

2. Core Product Technical Documents

·English user manual

·Schematics, PCB layout

·BOM / CDF with critical components

·Product specification

·Label/nameplate design

·Internal/external product photos

3. Product-Specific Documents

·Batteries: Cell specs, BMS design

·Lighting: LED driver data (ACP for photobiological)

·Lasers: Laser level documentation

·Smart products: Software safety logic

4. Non-Required Documents

RoHS, energy efficiency, network access licenses are not mandatory for CB.

  II. 2026 CB Certification Timeline

-Document preparation: 1–2 weeks

-Sample delivery: 2–5 days

-Testing:

·Simple: 2–3 weeks

·Medium: 3–5 weeks

·Complex/batteries: 5–8+ weeks

·ACP products: 3–5 weeks

-Report & NCB review: 1–2 weeks

-Certificate issuance: 1–3 days

Total lead time:

·Simple: 3–4 weeks

·Medium: 4–6 weeks

·Complex: 5–8+ weeks

Start at least 2 months before shipment.

  III. Validity & Modification Rules

·No fixed IECEE validity; depends on standard and product changes.

·Type A (non-safety): unlimited changes

·Type M (safety): most NCBs limit to 3 changes

·IEC 62368-1:2018 invalid after 7 Dec 2025

  IV. 2026 Core Rules

·ACP mandatory for IEC 62471 / IEC 60825-1

·IEC 62368-1:2023 mandatory for new applications

·Stricter review of document authenticity and product consistency
