I. What is SNI Certification?

SNI stands for Standar Nasional Indonesia — Indonesia’s national standard and a legally mandatory market access system. Similar to China CCC or EU CE, all products in the mandatory catalogue must obtain SNI certification and display the mark to be imported, stored, sold online or offline.

  II. SNI Certification Standards

Over 322 products are currently regulated, with ongoing expansion into electronics, home appliances, cables, toys, building materials, and auto parts.

  III. 2026 SNI New Regulation Timeline

  IV. Dual‑Certificate System (2026 Mandatory)

From full enforcement, two certificates are required:

1.SNI CoC (Certificate of Conformity)Issued by authorized bodies, valid for 5 years, covering product testing and factory quality systems.

2.SPPT (Market Circulation Permit)Required for customs clearance and sales, valid for 4 years.

Both require annual surveillance audits.

  V. Local Representative Requirement

Overseas manufacturers cannot apply directly. A local Indonesian representative is mandatory:

·Serves only one factory

·Valid NPWP tax ID, business license, import license

·Physical warehouse in the same city as the certification body

Virtual addresses lead to application failure and blacklisting.

  VI. 2026 Mutual Recognition Policy

Testing must be performed at KAN‑accredited laboratories with local difference testing.A key benefit: Indonesia‑China standard mutual recognition expected mid‑2026. Qualified test reports from CQC and other Chinese authorities may exempt local re‑testing, reducing time and cost.

  VII. SNI Certification Timeline

·Regular certification: 3–6 months (excluding trademark registration)

·Indonesian trademark registration: 12–24 months (R‑mark required for annual audits)

Violations may result in:
