KC‑RRA is Korea’s mandatory certification for radio and RF equipment, regulated by KCC. It controls RF parameters, EMC, and safe usage.
Old versions are no longer accepted. Key standards:
·KC‑RRA 14‑01‑01: General RF equipment
·KC‑RRA 14‑01‑02: Broadband wireless access
·KC‑RRA 14‑01‑03: Short-range low-power devices
·KC‑RRA 14‑01‑04: Mobile communication terminals
·KC‑RRA 14‑01‑05: Broadcasting & satellite equipment
II. Main Test Items
1.RF performance: transmit power, frequency error, bandwidth, spurious emissions
2.EMC testing: radiated/conducted disturbance, ESD, surge
3.Electrical safety (for powered devices)
4.RF exposure assessment for some products
III. Applicable Products
·Wireless modules (WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, LoRa)
·Consumer electronics: earphones, speakers, keyboards, smart watches
·Home/commercial: alarms, access control, remotes
·Automotive: car WiFi, T‑BOX, Bluetooth head units
·Industrial: sensors, data terminals
Purely wired products without RF functions are exempt.
Common Mistakes
·Misclassification or wrong standard selection
·Multi-function wireless devices must be certified as a whole
·Series models with same circuit can apply as a group
·Design changes require re‑testing or update
